Dale Sinclair discusses how innovations in design technology are shifting the paradigm for construction.

The UK’s BIM framework continues to mature and has progressed from UK-centric PAS documents into the global standards set out in the ISO19650 suite of documents. However, BIM continues to play into traditional design and procurement processes, placing emphasis on drawings rather than data, impeding the next wave of innovation.

About the speaker

Dale Sinclair
As Director of Innovation, Dale delivers game-changing, interdisciplinary workflow, leveraging modern methods of construction and digital technologies, into large scale projects at AECOM. A qualified architect for 35 years, he was lead author of the RIBA Plan of Work 2013 publications as well as the recent RIBA Plan of Work 2020 Overview. He is an RIBA Ambassador for Collaboration, sits on the board of the UK Construction Industry Council and was recently described as a pragmatic futurist.
