About the speakers

Shalini Jagnarie-Azan
Shalini is a consulting structural engineer with PAHO/WHO specialising in climate resilient design of buildings and healthcare facilities. Since 2013 she has also been involved in humanitarian response following natural disasters. She believes that structural engineers have an important role in safeguarding our built-environment for future generations and strongly advocates for this in developing countries, particularly SIDS.

Victoria Martin
Victoria is an Engineering Associate with BDP in London. She is passionate about the Institution’s potential for knowledge sharing; supporting those in practice, engaging the general public and enthusing future designers. She firmly believes in taking a broad, holistic approach to engineering and the importance of the entire team in producing elegant, sustainable designs.
