An Ordinary Meeting of the Institution of Structural Engineers was held at 11, Upper Belgrave Street, London, S.W.l, on Thursday, 13th December, 1945, the President (Mr. F.E. Drury, M.Sc.,M.I.Struct.E.) in the Chair.
In the autumn of last year the Author spent two months in Germany on an Assessing Committee sent out by the Ministry of Works and the paper which is now presented is the outcome of that tour. John Mason
